Party Poker

Party Poker is currently my second choice of poker room, whenever I get bored or tired of full tilt poker or in case there’s no fun tournaments going I just switch to Party Poker instead. It’s still a very very good poker room but not as good as full tilt poker. If haven’t read my review on it you can read it here: full tilt poker review.

Party Poker

Cash Game

The cash game on party poker is very hot. There’s always extremely many player playing on many different levels. But unlike “pro” rooms like full tilt poker, you can’t find great action on the very high levels (not that that bothers me.. :). Anyway there’s always game on any low to medium size level.

Tournaments

Party Poker features a wide variety of tournaments, there are quite a few low stake tournaments. Each day I would say they run about 5-10 tournaments within my range. That’s about $22 to $55. So I can always find action. There are also PP (party points) tournaments going many times each day so the points you collect for playing at party poker can be used to play the semi-freerolls.

Other

Party Poker has existed for a very long time. It was first opened in 2001 for the Europe + USA but in late 2006 it shut down its US operations completely due to the UIEGA act that made it illegal for gambling sites to have any activity in the US market. This is unfortunately the big blow in the history of party poker. Before this they had the biggest market of any poker site and the complete number of players online was just crazy. You could always find any game at any level. Sites such as full tilt poker and poker stars remained in the US market and could just see all the party poker players change to their sites instead.
